Ambit and Tishman Speyer create a Tenant-Ready™ space at The Point in the heart of Paddington

Announcements 29th November, 2022

The Point is an exciting office space based in the heart of Paddington, working closely alongside our client, Tishman Speyer, a clear design brief provided objectives which we enthusiastically took on to curate this exceptional, future-proofed workspace.

The works included the complete refurbishment of the reception including the addition of a boutique coffee offering and social spaces, we also extended the scenic lifts to roof level to access the new roof terrace.

The brief? To transform a pre-existing workspace into an inspiring, holistic, and multifunctional workspace to be used by a variety of tenants. The vision for The Point was clear from the start with key design features being outlined as priorities from the start. These focus points included the strip out and full refurbishment of the reception as well as the installation of a multi-functional, furnished roof terrace

The reception came with its own set of challenges as the pre-existing stone floor needed to be taken up and replaced to ensure longevity in the building. As it was a live site, soundproofing was necessary to ensure minimal disruption was made to the current tenants. Despite the challenges, the outcome was outstanding. A barista-run coffee bar with a terrazzo stone top creates an exceptional focal point for internal employees and external visitors to enjoy upon arrival to the space.

The Point utilises the very best workspace technology to create a personalised atmosphere for tenants. The installation of the Kone Speed Gates showcases this perfectly, syncing up with the lift to ensure it is ready and waiting once an individual’s access card has been used to enter the building. This is the first UK installation of such technology making this project one of a kind.

The Point originally consisted of nine floors, however early in the design stage it became apparent that a 10th floor would be needed to accommodate the client’s vision of a roof terrace breakout zone. As well as building a new floor, an extension of the scenic lift was also required to ensure accessibility to all. The placement of olive trees as well as a bar on the roof terrace creates an outstanding social space for tenants to enjoy, further adding to the multi-functional nature of this workspace.

The Point provides Paddington with an inspiring and long-lasting office space, ready to be enjoyed by numerous businesses, we are proud to have been a part of the process.
