Ambit announces charity partnership with Waste Wise Kids

We are so pleased to announce that we have officially become a Green Member of Waste Wise Kids, a non-profit organisation created by Encore Environment. Encore Environment is a leading waste management and environmental consultancy that collaborates with schools around the UK to teach children how to reduce, reuse and recycle and the impact of waste on our environment.

Encore Environment has been a long-term partner for us, managing the effective waste management of our sites. Encore Environment helps us with waste removal, redistribution and recycling practices to ensure that we are doing everything we can to minimise our environmental impact.

Our Managing Director, Martin Evans, says “It is incredible to partner up with the team at Encore Environment to add value to an everyday service and help make a difference to charities and children’s learning across the UK. With the help of Waste Wise Kids, we have been able to make a difference and teach children about waste, sustainability and the huge role that plays on our future. At Ambit we are passionate about our impact on the environment, we constantly challenge the norms to seek out opportunities for improvement, so to build on our ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certification, Ambit is now proud to be partnering with Waste Wise Kids. Waste Wise Kids aim is to support primary schools in educating young children about waste, recycling and sustainability, to give children the knowledge and understanding needed to actively reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. To do this we will be providing schools with resources and support to engage the younger generation!”

The program is aimed at school children aged 4-12 years old. Children are taught about the different waste types, what happens to waste after it is disposed of, and to think about reducing, reusing, repurposing, and recycling waste.
